When my 35 year tour of duty with the Orpheum Theatre was coming to a close, I knew that my retirement was going to need a significant way for me to thank the City that had been so supportive of my every effort; being elected to the City Council in 1975 and improving the Orpheum to what it is today. 

The vision of Positively Memphis is to build awareness for all things positive about the city we love. We strive to encourage giving, especially to fight child hunger, and positively promote economic development projects. Last year we launched the Feeding Hungry Children campaign raising over $200,000 and providing over one million meals to kids in our community. 

We are ready to do more. 

Positively Memphis is committed to funding food insecurity for our most vulnerable while shining a light on the great work of our grantees. We also are relaunching our PM Speakers Series to bring awareness to positive community development projects around Memphis. In an effort to continue our mission we are committed to raising an additional $200,000 in 2022. 

While Memphis is applauded as one of the ‘most giving’ communities in the country where the need is so great; we remain one of the poorest counties in the U.S. 

Thank you Memphis, for continually supporting worthy projects and improving our community’s quality of life. We hope that Positively Memphis might be added to your list of supported causes. Every dollar we raise goes directly to PM grantees. While our first year was successful in many ways - providing over one million meals - the hunger issue still remains. 

Positively Memphis helps build civic awareness for dynamic Memphis development projects while supporting local nonprofits, especially those feeding hungry families and their children.
